ONCE UPON A TIME.
Born Nicole Todd Isbelle in Lake Tahoe, California to parents Steve and Lucy. Nik is the middle child to sister Jennifer and brother Matthew. When she was little, her dad owned and operated a prestigious construction company, yet never missed a single ski race, soccer or softball game. He even found time to coach her teams. Lucy was a full time mom, while managing Isbell Construction and pursuing a passion for Photography.
A TAHOE WAY OF LIFE.
Growing up, Nik was involved in every sport Lake Tahoe had to offer. With a family that rode their bikes to town for dinner, she started skiing at age two, soon discovering soccer, karate, cross country running, and softball. A bit of a tomboy, she refused ballet, anything “girly,” until it was suggested she learn dance. She began at 13, and has never looked back, choosing dance over all other sports. Though she still ski’s whenever home.
TAKING CENTER STAGE.
At age 5 she participated in her first play as a dancing flower in the Stories of Han Christian Anderson. She immediately fell in love with a faerie tale lifestyle. At 10, she stared as Dorothy in her school production of the Wizard of Oz. Hearing everyone praise her talent, and seeing the light in their daughter’s eyes, Steve and Lucy accepted the obvious: their dancing flower was headed for the limelight.
Wanting her to continue a normal childhood, they disallowed sending her away to a performing arts school, but instead, enrolled her in dance, voice and singing class, including an array of diverse acting summer programs across the country. From Perry Mansfield Arts Camp in Colorado, where she stared as Wendy in their production of Peter Pan, to Interlocken Arts School in Michigan, to Beginnings in NYC, where she performed on off Broadway.
SCHOOL OF LIFE.
In high school, Nik was the only freshman girl cast in the musical Sugar, based on the classic film Some Like it Hot. She then became active in community college Theater, driving hours to and from rehearsal. This paid off. Nik was cast as Cinderella in the Reno Repertoire Company’s musical production, soon performing in front of a thousand-seat audience at Reno Hilton’s. (a stage formally in the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest stage ever built). This magical experience further solidified her dream. In 2005, Nik graduated North Tahoe High School. She contemplated
her next move…
LITTLE STAR.
Los Angeles or New York. A week after her 19th birthday, Nik packed her car and drove... She landed in Hollywood. After making the initial rounds, she ventured to London to study Shakespeare at the London Academy of Dramatic arts. Upon returning, Nik has booked many commercials (Old Navy, Puma, Samsung, At&t, etc.), a variety of major label music videos, numerous modeling campaigns and
several independent films.
Continually growing and studying her craft, Nik found LA the perfect place to explore fashion. Finding herself addicted to this form of self-expression, she works, when free, with a budding fashion line run by one of the industry’s young tastemakers. When not on set or behind wracks of samples, Nik spends her time writing and working with various producers learning the side of the business behind the camera. Nevertheless, and extremely focused on acting, Nik is incredibly excited and optimistic for all the opportunities
that lay ahead of her.
